Hamilton Carhartt, a native New Yorker founded Carhartt in 1889 focusing primarily on cotton duck fabric overalls as well as military and workwear uniforms. A hundred years later, Edwin Faeh started introducing the European market to American produced product under "All American Concept." which then lead to the official establishment of WIP (Work in Progress), a European exclusive distributor of Carhartt.
